Mary Wilson

Mary Louise Wilson, 98, passed away March 7, 2026, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk.

Mary was born June 14, 1927, in Des Moines to Everett and Genevieve (Richards) Cunconan. She graduated from East High School. Mary was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business for several years and later worked at the Des Moines Airport Gift Shop, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Mary’s life was her family. She found a way to have a special bond with each grandchild. Mary loved going to Okoboji, Prairie Meadows and playing cards with her family. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Judy Doke, Sandra (Kent) Layton, Michelle Wilson and Ginger (Jim) Kimbro; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Wilson; sister, Betty Lou Cunconan; brother, Terry Cunconan; and son-in-law, Paul Doke.

The family will greet friends Friday, March 13, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street. Mary will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.
