Matthew David Oelmann, age 32, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. He was born on August 30, 1993, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Matt was the beloved son of Cheri Oelmann and the late Douglas Oelmann. He shared a close and deeply meaningful bond with his father, whom he loved very much.

Matt loved fishing with his dad and grandfather, camping, kayaking, motorbikes, sports cars, and playing Pokémon. He also deeply loved his cats—Peyton, Bam, Mystic, and Jack—who were a constant source of comfort and companionship in his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Oelmann, and his grandfather, David VandenBaard.

He is survived by his mother, Cheri Oelmann; his grandmother, Eileen VandenBaard; his brother, Jason Oelmann (Andrew Greenberg); his half-siblings, Jeff Oelmann (Leigh Oelmann), Jean Oelmann, and Jennifer Beckett (Travis Acord); and his significant other, Francisca Rivas, who stood by his side with love and devotion.

A service or celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
