Michael W. Boothroyd

Michael Walter Boothroyd, age 69, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at his home in Des Moines.

Michael was born December 10, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa to Walter and Lorus (Payne) Boothroyd.

He was a Des Moines resident most of his life, also living for a short time in Northern Missouri. Michael was a very loving grandpa and great grandpa. He enjoyed fishing and playing videogames, especially Xbox games. He had a special love for his granddog Layla.

He is survived by his mother, Lorus Fillman; son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Marsha Boothroyd; son, Andrew Schott; grandchildren, Jasmine, Brandon, Cadence, and Michail; great granddaughter, Elena; granddog, Layla; siblings, Gary Boothroyd, Sandra Barton, Carol Fiscus, and Rhonda Marrow; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death his daughter, Christina Boothroyd; brothers, Dennis and Robert Boothroyd; sister, Connie Hodge; and his father, Walter Boothroyd.

Cremation will occur and there will be no formal services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Michael.
