Michael Mauro Iaria

Michael Iaria, 87, of Des Moines, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at Unity Point Methodist.

He was born May 19, 1938 in Des Moines to Paul Iaria and Rose Calabrese.
Michael was a member of St Anthony’s Church and the Italian/American Club. He worked for Morton Salt than Fazio Brokerage. In Michael’s free time he enjoyed watching football and playing cards, especially poker and pitch. He also loved attending horse racing at Prairie Meadows.

Michael was preceded in death by Nick Iaria, Joanna Schmeling, and Dick Schmeling.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Iaria; son, Michael Iaria; extended family, Paul Iaria and Barb Iaria; and Mike and Dawn Sinclair.
