Michael "Mike" Marvin

Michael “Mike” Marvin passed away at his home on March 29, 2026.

Mike was born September 29, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa to Alfred and Norma (Berry) Marvin. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973. Mike starting working for Des Moines Water Works as a Meter Reader following graduation and continued working there until his retirement. He was an avid hockey fan; the Des Moines Buccaneers and Ottawa Senators were his two favorite teams. Mike was also a Las Vegas Raiders fan. He lived a quiet life and was an amazing uncle to his “3 favorite kids”.

Mike is survived by his sister, Pat Godfrey; nephew and nieces, Michael, Katie and Sarah; great nieces and nephew, Hannah, Luke and Madelyn; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by a Graveside Service at 12:00 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated for a future Des Moines Buccaneers Memorial in loving memory of Mike.
