Nancy S. Martinez

Nancy S. Martinez, 75, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

Nancy was born May 27, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa to Monty N. and Nan (Garrison) Mills. She was a Realtor for Iowa Realty for many years and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Nancy enjoyed painting, gardening and riding tandem bikes with her husband, Vincent. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Vincent J. Martinez; son, James (Rose Sun) Brown; daughter, Darcee DiStefano; granddaughter, Gianna DiStefano; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other loving relatives, and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Larry Brown; daughter, Christine Brown; and six siblings.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines with a vigil service to begin at 7pm. Catholic funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the funeral home followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
