Pat Punelli

Patricia Jeanne (Justice) Punelli was born August 26, 1955 to Oliver and Mary Justice of Bondurant.
She grew to be a stylish and artistic young woman, who became Homecoming Queen in high school, and entered many art fairs and competitions.
Patricia moved to Des Moines as a young woman and married the love of her life Charlie Punelli in 1979. Together they operated a successful steel fabricating business, The Iron Works, Ltd on Des Moines South Side.
Pat’s artistic ambitions were realized with the production of her sculptural outdoor planters which can be seen through out the city and beyond. She was a lover of nature and supported many worthy causes.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edna; brother Jimmy; brothers-in-law, Steve and David; niece, Stephanie; and nephew, Jason.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles R Punelli; step-children, Teresa Punelli, Albert Punelli, Julie Punelli, and Cataldo (Annette) Punelli; grand-children, Dr. Celia Mathieu, Bernard Punelli Anderson and Maria Punelli (Anthony) Chiovaro; great-grandchildren, Italia, Lydia, Charli, and Hannah Chiovaro. She also leaves behind sisters, Mary Berrier and Sioux Chiodo Newberg; brothers, Chuck (Pam) Justice, Gary (Annette) Justice; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her as a strong and gracious woman and an example of loving dedication to Charlie, her partner of 46 years.
The family will be greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in Pat’s memory.

I am so sad and sorry to hear of Pat's passing. We were classmates at BF and close friends during those school years. I followed her career and admired her artistic talent. She was a free spirit, kind, and so talented. My sympathies to Charlie and her siblings and stepchildren.

So very sorry to hear of Patti's passing. I attended high school her. I have many great memories of Patti , as we grew up in the same neighborhood. She was very talented at many things. I always admired her for that. Many condolences to her loving family.
