Paulette Ahmed-Rains

Paulette K. Ahmed-Rains, 80, of Des Moines, passed away May 15, 2026, at Eden Acres. She was born April 14, 1946 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Millie and Paul Brown.

Paulette was a sweet and caring person who never met a stranger. She loved all of her patients when she worked as a nurses aid. She then went on to work at Hy-Vee for many years in food service. When she was not working, you would find her spending time with her friends, chosen family, and loved ones.

Paulette had an amazing heart. Her love, jokes, and legacy, lives on through the many lives she has touched.

Paulette was predeceased by all of her siblings; parents; husband, John Rains; and daughter, Shawna Frakes.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Linn; grandchildren, Kenny, Alex, and Nicholas; and great-granddaughter, Katalina.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
