Pauline Ruth Traversi

Pauline Ruth Traversi, 76, passed away on May 29, 2025. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Lee Traversi; her mother, Ruth Maceluch; her sister and brother-in law, Sharon and Michael Smith; nephews, Anthony Traversi, Philip Traversi, Jim Smith, and Stephen Smith; and many beloved cousins & their families.

Pauline earned her bachelor’s degree from Washington Adventist University (CUC) and a master’s from Walden University. Her 49-year nursing career spanned hands-on care, administration, and education—work that didn’t stop with retirement. She continued to mentor and serve her community with unwavering dedication.

Pauline was a beacon of light, hope, and inspiration to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her once-in-a-lifetime love and partner, Bill. Together with her daughter, Heather, she honored his memory and found joy in their years together in Des Moines, Iowa.

Her profound faith, deep love of animals, and lifelong devotion to service defined her legacy. As reflected in one of her favorite scriptures:
“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
—1 Corinthians 13:7

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a future date. In time, Pauline “Paula” will be reunited with her beloved husband Bill at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, VA where they will rest together in peaceful sleep until called home to heaven.
