Phillip Ardean Williams, Sr., 88, passed away October 17, 2025.

He was born March 19, 1937 in Knoxville, Iowa to his parents, Harold and Ruth Williams. Ardean attended Iowa Wesleyan University. During one summer he came home to find his future wife Janice.

Ardean enjoyed working. He always had several jobs he was juggling while full time tire builder at Firestone, owned P & J Sports Center, PAWFarm Trucking, all while farming both his land and his dad's.

Ardean also was the head of the Go Cart Association and 4-H Extension for many years. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Ardean is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janice Williams; daughter, Jill Roudebush; his son, Phillip Williams Jr; daughter, Wendy (Mike) Hamner; daughter, Cindy (David) Greif; his grandchildren, John (Misty) Steingrabe, Jessie Hummel, Matthew (Mandy) Roudebush, Madi (Faisal) Tai, Alli (Luke) Verhorevoort, Claire Williams (Colton Rumley), Wesley Hammer, Morgan (Jay) Hackett, Courtney (Cooper) Tonning, and Afton (Jake) Kidman; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Williams; sisters, Joann Hoch and Elizabeth Hancock; and son in law, Mark Roudebush.

Family will greet friends Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Memorial service will take place the following day Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
