Renee Keicher

Renee Lynn Keicher, 63, died Monday, March 23, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born March 8, 1963 to Ralph and Fern (Boucher) Harter in Des Moines.

Renee graduated from Mingo High School and earned her Associates Degree from DMACC. She worked at Ohio Casualty Insurance and then Insurance Management in Altoona. Most of her life, she had the honor and privilege to be a stay at home mom and raise her two wonderful daughters.

Renee had a lifelong passion for crafting, particularly crocheting, and lovingly created many hats that she donated to NICU hospitals. She enjoyed reading murder mysteries and watching British television programs in her leisure time.

Renee took great pleasure in collecting teapots and nutcrackers and found peace in tending to her flower garden, where her favorite daisies and lilacs flourished. She will be remembered for her warm sense of humor and her gentle, playful spirit, which brought joy to those who knew her.

Renee is survived by her daughters, Natasha Keicher (Patrick Somsavath) and Kailee Keicher; father of her children, David Keicher; sister, Rita Doty Tiffany; sister-in-law, Lorri Harter; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Fern Harter; and brothers, Randy Harter and Rudy Harter.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this spring.
