Robert Gregory Moore

Robert Gregory Moore, age 63, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Robert was born February 8, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa to Melvin and Sharon Moore. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and worked for the U. S. Postal Service. Robert was captivated by the whistle of distant trains and the flashing lights of firetrucks. He aspired as a younger man of becoming a firefighter. He loved roadtrips to Colorado and Omaha, chasing thunderstorms and watching fireworks. When at home, you would most likely find him listening to rock n roll.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Moore; son, Robert Moore II; daughter-in-law, Rowan Moore; grandson, Marcus Jasper; former spouse, Mary Blanchard; brothers, Bryan (Hattie), Brent (Patty), Brad (Lisa), Bill (Celesta), and Biff (Jenny); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Moore.

There will be a celebration of life from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
