Roger Christenson

Roger Christenson, 81, born November 9, 1943, was promoted to glory on April 11, 2025.

Roger loved many things: volunteering for the Iowa Department for The Blind, singing hymns at church, a good tenderloin, and he especially loved snow! Most of all, he was a simple man of great faith. He was a soldier of the Des Moines Salvation Army Temple Corps since 1976.

Roger is survived by many friends, and his Salvation Army church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two special church friends: Jeanette and Margret Peterson.

A celebration of life will be held at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St, Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday May 10th from 1-3 p.m. Visitation is from 1-2 pm, with the service beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent directly to the Iowa Department For The Blind, or The Salvation Army Des Moines Temple Corps.
