Susan L. Hallock
October 30, 1954 — January 02, 2026
Susan Lynn Hallock, 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Sue was born October 30, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa to Maxon and Shirley (Coe) Anderson. She was blessed with her son, Jeremy, and was a hardworking single mother for the first 13 years of Jeremy’s life, often holding multiple jobs to provide for his needs. She willingly did what it took to provide the best life for her son.
She was a U. S. History buff, especially interested in the Civil War era. Sue would incorporate historical elements into family vacations, taking tours of Civil War homes and plantations. She even served as a tour guide for a time. She was also a part of a national monument preservation group.
Sue was fascinated by the supernatural and loved watching television shows about the subject and taking ghost tours. She enjoyed roller skating and swimming. Sue was very social and loved meeting people. Everyone started with a clean slate with Sue and she gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. She loved animals, especially cats, and was dedicated to feeding wildlife in her yard every day.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Hallock; son, Jeremy Bingaman; daughter-in-law, Susan Bingaman; grandson, Benjamin Bingaman; sister, Jean Cook; sister-in-law, Kathie Lutter; brothers-in-law, Larry Anderson and Mark Lutter; and nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Sue was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Blanchard; brother, Max (Jamie) Anderson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Anderson, Greg Blanchard, Diane Anderson, and Dennis Cook.
Following Susan’s wishes, cremation will occur.
