Steven C. Maier

Steven Craig Maier, age 68, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his home in Des Moines.

Steve was born September 13, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa to Albert and Louisa Maier. He was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area.

Steve was mechanically inclined and there was nothing he could not fix – from small engines to diesel. He was a handyman and a jack of all trades. He was self-employed his whole life as a mechanic.

He is survived by his children Jenifer Phillips, Amanda Maier, and Steven “Adam” Maier; his grandchildren, Elena, Breana, Lily, Eddie, Zackery, Audrey, and Mary; and four great-grandchildren.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie C. Wood; and his parents, Albert Maier, Louisa Maier, and Gary Maier.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Steve.
