Sandra L. Turner

On June 29, 2026, the angels called Home Sandra Lee Turner, 84, of Pleasant Hill Iowa. Sandra lived a wonderful life filled with a husband that was truly dedicated to her, a daughter that knew she was blessed, family that adored her silly side and appreciated her diligence and consistency, and amazing friends that she loved deeply. Sandra was known for her family Thanksgiving spread along with her delicious Christmas Eve celebration including serving her Rigatoni and a cherished gift exchange. She was also an excellent secretary. In her younger years, she worked for Dr. Paul Cash, as a Legal Secretary for law firms, and eventually retired after many years with the State of Iowa Supreme Court.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth; granddaughters, Jacklyn and Alexandra; sister Carol (Don) Moore; and brother, Brian (Rhonda) Higginbotham; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; mother, Mildred Higginbotham; aunt, Nola Beth Wachel; grandmother, Polly Hansen; and nephew, Jamie Moore; as well as her three kitties, Shadow, Shadow, and Precious.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
