Sharon E. Fisher

Sharon Elizabeth Fisher, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 22, 2026.
She was born on October 26, 1943, in Clarion, Iowa, to Norval and LaVonne Story. She was united in marriage to Martin Fisher in 1961 in Webster City, Iowa. After briefly living in South Carolina and Missouri, she and Martin moved to Des Moines in 1969, where she devoted her life to her family.
Sharon was a dedicated homemaker whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. Her family was the center of her world, and she created a home filled with warmth, love, and lasting memories. She placed the needs of her family over her own. She played a pivotal part in the lives of her grandchildren, by providing them with daycare and teaching them the lessons of kindness and respect for all people.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin Fisher, and her parents.
Sharon is survived by her sister, Carole (Ivan) Pigsley; her children, Lori Dyer, Jay Fisher, Laina Fisher, Matt (Anna) Fisher, and Lissa Kozeliski; as well as 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 am at Hamilton Funeral Home near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines on April 3, 2026. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location and the burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Sharon will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
