Sharon Lee Hogle

Sharon L Hogle, age 89, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away March 17, 2026, at Edgewater.

She was born on December 4, 1936, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Lee A. Long and Florence (Anderson) Long. Sharon graduated from Conrad High School in 1955 where she was Homecoming Queen and later attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She married her high school sweetheart, Roger Hogle, on June 23, 1957. They lived in Ames, IA for 46 years. Sharon first worked as a secretary for Johnny Majors, a football coach at Iowa State University. She then worked as a realtor for 36 years, first at Ames Central Real Estate, then Gray Real Estate and finally Friedrich-Iowa Realty. In September of 2009, Sharon and Roy moved to Edgewater. She enjoyed horses, square dancing, and winters in Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; her children, Kim (Melvin) Gawley of Ames, Iowa, Jeffrey (Dianna Gentry) Hogle of Portland, Oregon, and Jane (Patrick) Hansen of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren, Matthew (Alexandra) Hansen of Pisac Peru and Leah (Steve) Locke of Ames Iowa; and great -grandchildren, Amaru Hansen, Lucy Locke, and Molly Locke.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, and her brother Charles Long.
