Sheila Marie Allie

Sheila Marie Allie, 67, passed away peacefully at her home in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 29, 2026.

Sheila was born on August 21, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Warren and Yvette (Tady) Polson. She graduated from Southeast Polk High School and spent much of her career working in the insurance industry. Sheila also lived in California before returning to Iowa in 1993.

Sheila found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, shopping and thrift shopping, going out for ice cream, taking scenic drives, and enjoying family gatherings. She had a special fondness for pork tenderloin sandwiches, cozy blankets, and trying her luck at gambling. Rather than volunteering in the elementary school concession stand, Sheila bought it so she never had to worry about volunteering again.

Sheila is lovingly survived by her sons, Rick (Ashley)Walls and Rian (Lindsey) Walls; six grandchildren, Warren Walls, Jake Walls, Chris Walls, Maxx Walls, Sophee Walls, Kennah Walls, and one on the way; her siblings, Christine Garvey, Pete (Marla) Polson, Lloyd Polson, Ginger Casper; her best friend, Paulette Doane; her faithful dog, Zelda, and her cat, Sirius-Slick whom brought her much happiness over the years, along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Allie; her parents, Warren and Yvette Polson; her brother, Tom; her brothers-in-law, Mike Garvey and George Casper Sr; dogs, Louis and Lucy; and cat, Willson.

In keeping with Sheila's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at American Legion Post #274 Baldwin-Patterson, 2211 E 42nd Street, Des Moines, Iowa.

Sheila will be remembered for the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren, and for finding happiness in everyday moments. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
