Sheryl Sue Feuerhelm

Sheryl S. Feuerhelm went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2026. She was born on New Year’s Day in Des Moines, Iowa to Darrell and Bea Vuagniaux. She was a lifelong Des Moines resident.

During her life, Sherry loved reading, cooking, listening to music, morning coffee with the Des Moines Register Jumble, and spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren who were the glitter in her golden years), and dear friends. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Clive, Iowa and was a dedicated Democrat!

She is survived by the family she loved and treasured—her husband of 60 years, Neal; two sons, Brett (Mary) and Trevor (Jacque) Feuerhelm; five grandchildren, Faith, Joseph, Kennedy, Sydney and Thomas (all of the Des Moines area); and her brother, Tim (Sherry) Vuagniaux of Sedalia, Mo.

A graveside service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa.
