Steve Perry
March 27, 1980 — May 19, 2025
Steven Jay Perry, 45, passed away from septic shock brought on by pneumonia on May 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family, close friends and prayers.
Steve was born on March 27, 1980 to his parents, Steve and Sylvia Perry. He was their only child. He was involved in band, show choir, chorus, and sports throughout high school. After graduating from North Polk High School, he attended and received his two-year Associates Degree from DMACC. He held several positions at different companies during his lifetime starting at the age of 16. He was very mechanical, loved fixing things, and worked on projects until he could get them figured out. He loved to drive on the open road and was a semi-truck driver with his last position being at Johnson Brothers.
He was a proud father of Lily and Ivy, who he cherished and loved so much. Steve enjoyed trying to teach them how to play the guitar and attending all of their musical programs and dance recitals.
Steve is survived by his parents; children; aunts; uncles; many cousins; girlfriend, Julie Graczyk; and many close friends including his buddies from high school, Nathan, Tony and Ryan. Who provided great comfort to the family in Steve’s last hours of his life.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bertha and Ralph Perry and Irene and Fred Wagaman; aunts and uncles, Debra (Peter) Timperley, Sheila (Glenn) Bailey, Ed Cooper and Blaine Goff; and cousin, Glenda Bailey Wilson.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First Family Church, 317 SE Magazine Road in Ankeny.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Women of Quail Creek for a memorial scholarship in honor of Steve or can be given to the family for his girls.

When a husband loses a wife they call him a widow or widower. When a child loses a parent they call them an orphan. There is no name for a parent who loses a child. There is no words to explain that loss. It’s unnatural. And the person they were before that loss is no longer the same.
Just want to let Steve's parents and family know they are in my thoughts and prayers.
"Death is the beginning of life as life is the beginning of death". You will see him again.

Sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. Never a dull moment with him around…always good for a laugh. I worked with him at a couple Walgreens locations (downtown and Altoona). And he delivered to us when he was working for Pepsi (I believe).
RIP Steve
