Susan Marie Anderson

Susan Marie Anderson, 79, passed away September 24, 2025 in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Susan was born on August 5, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Paul and Mary (Bertogli) Bennett. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1964 and went on to earn both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Drake University.

Susan dedicated herself to a career in nursing. She worked compassionately at Mercy, Lutheran, and Des Moines General Hospitals, caring for countless patients throughout her years of service.

Outside of her professional life, Susan enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, celebrating the holidays and, most of all, spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her warmth, laughter, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Lori Anderson (Todd) and Michael Anderson; grandchildren, William and Samuel Anderson; and brother, Stephen (Lourene) Bennett.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents.

A private graveside service will be held at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, IA.
