Bill -
During my years at the ZETA house, there was always a constant in one couple - Hayes & Tabor. (For some reason never clear to me, we all used our last names.) Now that I think about it, there may have been one time, just for a few days, that the two of you had a spat, but that didn't last. You both got over that tiff quickly.
Remember "Study time" in the dining room? We tried to solve the problems of the world -- Vietnam, Congress, and the UI administration, among other realities. I now understand that those discussions were a gift in teaching us how to process the unbelievable, inevitable, and crazy political turns of our reality as undergrads at IOWA in the early 70s. How blessed we all were to be in that space together!
I learned so much from Sue, with her quick wit and
pragmatism. I will not forget her - my ZETA sister forever.

I am shocked and saddened for you to see Susan's obituary! I know we haven't communicated for almost two years, so thinking Susan's health condition may have occurred in the past year.
Please know that I'm thinking of you and your family and sending my deepest sympathy and condolences.
