Ted Hill, 50, passed away at Mercy One Hospital on July 8, 2026. He was born the son of Mike and Kathi Hill on March 3, 1976, at Lutheran Hospital.
Ted enjoyed his grand babies, the Green Bay Packers, sprint car racing, camping, NASCAR, grilling, and most of all helping people.
Ted was a Heavy Equipment Operator. His last place of employment before the horrible disease took over his body was Vanderpool Construction, Inc. And he also spent many years working at Elder Corporation. Ted never missed a day of work, his dedication to his job was undeniable.
There is no denying that Ted’s greatest treasures were his grand babies. He also loved being around family, as his family was his top priority. He was also the family mechanic.
Those left to cherish Ted’s memory include his loving wife, Jamie; mother, Kathi; sister, Kim (Josh); children, Katie (Chris); Tanner (Hannah); grandchildren, Eliana, Tucker, and soon to be Liliana; mother-in-law Julie (Dale); father-in-law, Bob (Becky); sister-in-law, Jennifer; sister-in-law, Tiffany; niece, Gwyn (Jenna); niece, Megan (Evan); niece, Mariah; niece, Brooklynne; nephew, Brecken; niece, Mallory. And many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Ted was preceded in death by his by his father; his brother Tyler; maternal Grandparents and paternal Grandparents.
Ted’s viewing for his family and friends will be on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 6pm to 8pm. Ted’s funeral service will be on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 1:00pm. These will take place at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, Iowa. Ted will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave, Des Moines.

Ted was a great man, husband, father and grandfather. He worked hard to care for his own family, his extended family and also anyone who needed it. It is so unfair for you to be taken so early. Fly to the angels Ted…
