Terrance George Gebard, 87, passed away August 4, 2026.

He was born September 27, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa to his parents, George and Fay Gebard. Terrance worked at Firestone for over 30 years before he retired.

He was a passionate tinker and skilled carpenter. Terrance enjoyed renovating homes and learning new skills along the way. He also enjoyed teaching others what he learned and it was not uncommon for him to hire those less fortunate. Terrance would give the shirt off his back to someone in need and will be remembered as a good faithful man.

Terrance is survived by his children, Teri Theressa Westrom, Mary (Steve) Schmidt, and Terry (Kersten) Gebard; grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Limke, Christopher Westrom, Stephanie Fowler, Joe (Courtney) Schmidt, Becca (Jon) Schnorr, Jeff Schmidt, Kaeleigh (Justin) Long, Erika (Corey) Anderson, and Anelise Gebard; 10 great grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gebard; parents; and sisters, Vicki and Barbara.

Private graveside service will be held at Glendale Cemetery, 4909 University Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa at a later date.
