TIMOTHY (Tim) LEE COLLUM
June 13, 1972 – February 13, 2026

Tim was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids and attended Kirkwood Community College. He moved to Richmond Utah in 1995, returning to Mitchellville Care Center in April 2016. He moved into a private setting in Mitchellville after the care facility closed until his passing.

Tim was an avid fisherman all his life and an enthusiastic gamer passing on his skills and showing his younger cousins the fine art of gaming. Even though suffering a debilitating stroke and becoming wheelchair bound, he remained upbeat and was a dedicated volunteer being recognized as one the Mitchellville Library’s volunteers of the month. He was always ready with a smile and a wisecrack to friends and family members.

Tim’s burial will be March 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvary Cemetery, 800 East Court, Brooklyn, Iowa. Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 0155 on Center Avenue in Mitchellville, Iowa at 3:00 p.m. following the burial.

Tim is survived by Charolette Vander Ecken (Andre), Connie Openhaus-Mckelvy, Brian Collum, Marvin Krotz (Nancy), Mary Henderson (John), and Patty Pense (Mike). Jim Wickersham, Charlene Root, Treasa Mitchell-Arterburn (Craig), Travis Arterburn (Tiffany), Justin Arterburn (Amanda), Melissa Barret, Jessica Fields, Nate Arterburn (Amanda), Zachary Arterburn, Daniel Mitchell (MaKayla), Hunter Arterburn (Breanna) and multitude of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins with whose contact he greatly enjoyed.

Tim was preceded in death by father Dynise Collum, mother Marlene Dostal, Sister Tina Collum, grandparents Bud & Irene Collum, George & Louise Krotz, cousin Linda Wickersham, and aunt Sonya Wickersham.

A tremendous thank you and unrepayable debt is expressed to Tim’s cousins who took many hours out of their lives to assist with caring for Tim and included him in their lives. We also wish to thank Every Step Hospice Care for their wonderful care and assistance with Tim in his final months and with his passing!

Condolences and commemorations can be sent to P.O. Box 186, Mitchellville, Iowa 50169 these funds will be applied to Tim’s headstone and burial expenses.
