Vikki L. Spencer

Vikki Lynette Spencer, age 70, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Vikki was born July 17, 1955, in Vallejo, California to Winston Sr. and Jeanette (Dobbins) Spencer.

Her faith was a guiding force in her life and she was a devoted member of St. Paul AME Church. Vikki was a talented cook and enjoyed sewing. She had a beautiful singing voice and was generous and selfless, always doing what she could to help others. She was a mediator with Let’s Talk, teaching young people how to resolve conflicts constructively. She touched countless lives with her kindness and patience. Vikki loved her family and her church. In her free time, she enjoyed going shopping.

She is survived by her children, Nikolle Ross, Clifford (Sheena) Frazier II, and John C. Spinks; grandchildren, Mishelle, Dreshon, Nicholas, Clifford, Chance, Mal’akhi, Carmelo, and A’Lani; great-grandchildren, Emery and Cincere; four god-children; sister, Jeanette (Kierre) McCune; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many beloved friends.

Vikki was preceded in death by her parents, Winston Sr. and Jeanette Spencer; and her siblings, Deborah Spencer, Pamela Jo Spencer, and Winston Spencer, Jr.

Services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1201 Day Street, Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Guests are invited to return to St. Paul AME for a repass after the burial.
