William Irwin Davis

William Irwin Davis, 69, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Bill was born to William and Clare (Irwin) Davis on February 28, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa. A proud graduate of Hoover High School, Bill shined on the basketball court, where his competitive spirit and easygoing camaraderie made him a teammate everyone admired. His love of sports continued throughout his life, matched only by his unwavering dedication to his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes—rarely missing a game, always cheering with enthusiasm.

Bill’s greatest joys came from the simple pleasures he embraced fully: the sound of classic rock and roll playing through the speakers, a sunny day on the golf course, a quiet morning spent fishing, or a moment laughing with his family. His sense of humor, quick wit, and warm presence made every gathering brighter.

Above all, Bill was a proud and loving father. He is survived by his three children, Brandon, Tyler (Jessica), and Lauren; along with his six grandchildren, Kingsdon, Iree, Jewel, Harrison, Jaxson, and Xayden. Also, his two siblings, Jim (Laurie) Davis and Sue (John) Heslinga who will forever carry his spirit, and his love of a good joke.

Bill will be remembered not only for the passions he pursued, but for the kindness he showed, the memories he created, and the love he gave so generously. His absence leaves a profound space, but his legacy lives on in his children.

He will be deeply missed.
