Winifred (Winni) Puck

Winifred (Winni) B. Roberts Puck, 81, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Winni was born in Des Moines, IA, on May 26, 1944 to Clifford W. Roberts & Dorothy E. Roberts (Cook). She had one older brother, three older sisters, and a twin sister. Winni graduated from East High School in Des Moines and went on to graduate from Grand View college as a registered nurse.

Winni raised four children, Carrie, Tim, Amy and Juli, and many grandkids, and great grand kids.

Winni was a longtime member of Christ the King Parish, and spent much of her time teaching Bible studies and praying with people in the nursing home. Winni was known for her obsession with Winnie The Pooh and Neil Diamond.
Even as Winni began to age and slow down, her family and friends remained the most important thing to her, but she also had a lot of friends at Piller in Waterloo that she enjoyed playing games and exercising with.

Winni is remembered by so many people who loved her, most of all her children. Daughter, Carrie (Lynn) Gilleland; son, Tim (Paula) Puck; daughter, Amy Puck; and daughter, Juli (Andy) Bretz. Her sister, Sharon (Roberts) Prichard. Winni was blessed with many grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Reeves, Jamie (Nathan) Town, Jessica (Mark) Wallace, Lynsie Puck, Melanie Puck, Tim (Jayde) Puck, Elizabeth (Doug) Ulaszek, Aubrey (Josh) Thompson, Shawn Mitchell, Coraline Linney, Marcileen Linney, Chella (JC) Merrifield, Erika Reeves, and Laila Berry. Winni also had a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Loved ones who went before Winni to welcome her home include; her parents, Clifford Roberts and Dorothy Roberts; grandson, Justin Gilleland; brother, Russ Roberts; and sisters, Marla (Roberts) Paul, Barbara (Roberts) Berry, and Wendy (Roberts) Fitzlaff. Along with a number of beloved brother in laws, nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Winni.
