Xiang Ge Li

Xiang Ge Li, 90, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away with her family by her side on October 1st, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Li was born in Shijiazhuang, China and came to the states in 1996. Des Moines, Iowa became her home ever since. Devoted to Christ, her faith was a guiding force in her life, and was blessed to be a part of an incredible community of friends and devout worshipers like herself. Since her cancer diagnosis a decade ago, she defied all odds, conquered milestones that no one imagined was possible, and never let her illness get in the way of living her life to the fullest she possibly could.

She is survived by her three children, Sumin Chen, Shubin Chen, Jianzhong Chen; and her grandchildren, Jiaqi Chen, Yinghua Li and Chelsea Wang. She is preceded in her death by her parents, and her husband, Wenhai Chen.

She will be remembered and forever admired for her strength, love, kindness, and perseverance. She was loved and adorned by all those who knew her and will be missed tremendously.

As per the family’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
