Bonibel "Bonnie" Wilson
May 23, 1932 — January 12, 2026
Bonibel “Bonnie” Wilson, 93, of Altoona, IA, passed away peacefully, on Monday, January 12, 2026.
One of twelve children, Bonnie was born to James Alexander and Esther Nadeane (Stith) Still on May 23, 1932, in Barton County, near Boston, Missouri. She graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1950, along with her brother Richard.
Bonnie married Wayne Wilson on New Year’s Eve, 1953. To that union, their three daughters were born.
Bonnie was a homemaker in the early years of raising her girls but later went on to work the courtesy counter at Dahl’s Foods, in Des Moines, for 20+ years. She retired from Dahl’s in 1997.
Bonnie loved living on her farm and was lucky to do so right up until she was 92 years old. She enjoyed anything related to the outdoors and whether it be gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting, or just bird watching, she was able to find the beauty in the simple things in life. When she wasn’t outdoors, Bonnie loved to quilt, and sew, making several quilts for her family members over the years. She was also very artistic and enjoyed drawing and painting.
Left to cherish Bonnie’s memory are her daughters Terry Boggs and Deb Gunn (Randy Simerson); two sisters, Connie (Cecil) Barclay and Elizabeth (Bill) Wilson; five grandchildren, Jenni (Mike) Ellsworth, Bill Boggs, Jr (Kristi), Jonathan (Bobbi) Boggs, Carla Gunn and Laura (Dan) Gagne. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Wilson; her daughter, Kim Wilson; brothers James, Harvey, Leland and Richard; sisters Margaret, Mermyl, Betty, Nancy and Maribeth; and her son in law, Bill Boggs, Sr.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at Prairie Vista Village in Altoona, IA who took wonderful care of Bonnie in her last year of life. Without their love and compassion, Bonnie would have not been with us long as she was. We would also like to thank Suncrest Hospice Services for their comfort services in Bonnie’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, Iowa 50313.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Prairie Vista Village, 2785 1st Ave S, Altoona, IA 50009.

This is a beautiful picture of your mom. So sorry for all of the family. I saw Bonnie at her great granddaughter Copelynn's birthday party in June 2025. Bonnie looked so pretty and I told her. She had a beautiful smile. Remember the good times. So glad Terry you and Jennie seen her everyday. She was lucky to have you both. With love Linda Ellsworth
