Calletano Rodriguez Villegas, de 90 años, falleció el viernes 20 de marzo de 2026. Nació el 20 de Agosto de 1935 en Jalisco, México, hijo de Anastacia (Villegas) y Atanacio Rodriguez.

Calletano nació en Jalisco y fue criado en Zacatecas, México. Vivió más de 50 años en los Estados Unidos, manteniendo siempre una profunda conexión con su tierra natal, a la que regresaba con frecuencia. Hombre de gran fe, asistía a la iglesia Our Lady of the Americas.

En 1961, Calletano se casó con el amor de su vida, Delfa, y juntos compartieron 65 años de matrimonio llenos de amor, dedicación y fortaleza. Disfrutaba de las cosas sencillas de la vida, como montar a caballo, cuidar de sus animales de granja en México—vacas, cerdos y gallinas—y, sobre todo, pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Será recordado por su espíritu trabajador, su amor por las tradiciones y la calidez que brindaba a quienes lo rodeaban.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Delfa; sus hijos, Maria Rodriguez, Federico Rodriguez (Martha), Anastacia Rodriguez (Genaro De Santiago), Lucio Rodriguez, Otilia Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez (Irma) y Guadalupe Rodriguez (Antonio Avila); sus nietos, Susan Phelan (Jason), Rosy Guerrero, Liliana Hernandez (Jesus), Melissa Guerrero, Martin Guerrero (Kathy), Jocelyn Adams (Justin), Vanessa Rodriguez (Edgar Alvarez), Lucio Rodriguez (Diana), Karla Rodriguez, Niomi De la Cruz, Gerardo Rodriguez, Oscar Rodriguez, Eduardo Rodriguez, Lizbeth Rodriguez, Alejandra Avila y Enrique Avila; y sus bisnietos, Christian, Jada, Nayeli, Jimena, Isabella, Kayla, James, Jianni, Jackson, Alina y Allison; además de muchos familiares y amigos que recuerdan su memoria.

Calletano fue precedido en la muerte por sus dos hijos fallecidos en la infancia, Esperanza y Benjamin, y su hijo Secundino.

Será profundamente extrañado y recordado por siempre por todos quienes lo conocieron y apreciaron.

La visita se llevará a cabo el viernes 27 de Marzo de 2026, de 5:00 a 8:00 p.m., con el servicio funerario a las 8:00 p.m. en Hamiltons Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.

Calletano Rodriguez Villegas, age 90, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born on August 20, 1935, in Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Anastacia (Villegas) and Atanacio Rodriguez.

Calletano was born in Jalisco and raised in Zacatecas, Mexico. He spent more than 50 years in the United States while maintaining a deep connection to his homeland, often returning to Mexico. A man of strong faith, he attended Our Lady of the Americas.

In 1961, Calletano married the love of his life, Delfa, and together they shared 65 years of marriage filled with devotion, resilience, and love. He found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits, including horseback riding, caring for his farm animals in Mexico and, most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of tradition, and the warmth he brought to those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Delfa; his children, Maria Rodriguez, Federico Rodriguez (Martha), Anastacia Rodriguez (Genaro De Santiago), Lucio Rodriguez, Otilia Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez (Irma), and Guadalupe Rodriguez (Antonio Avila); his grandchildren, Susan Phelan (Jason), Rosy Guerrero, Liliana Hernandez (Jesus), Melissa Guerrero, Martin Guerrero (Kathy), Jocelyn Adams (Justin), Vanessa Rodriguez (Edgar Alvarez), Lucio Rodriguez (Diana), Karla Rodriguez, Niomi De la Cruz, Gerardo Rodriguez, Oscar Rodriguez, Eduardo Rodriguez, Lizbeth Rodriguez, Alejandra Avila, and Enrique Avila; and his great-grandchildren, Christian, Jada, Nayeli, Jimena, Isabella, Kayla, James, Jianni, Jackson, Alina, and Allison; along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Calletano was preceded in death by his two infant sons, Esperanza and Benjamin, and his son, Secundino.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, 5:00- 8:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 8:00 p.m. at Hamiltons Funeral Home. 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.
