Christine L. Kubik

Christine L. Kubik, 58, passed away July 10, 2025 at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Christine was born March 30, 1967, in Des Moines to Warren and Penny (Cowell) Smith. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1985. Christine worked for Kinman Glass for many years. She loved arts and crafts, especially different forms of artistic painting. She enjoyed all of her pets and had a special fondness for her dog Zoey. Christine loved listening to music and playing the slots at Prairie Meadows. She will be remembered for her fantastic sense of humor. She was a spitfire with a sassy streak. Christine had a loving spirit, could light up a room and cherished every moment spent with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Christine is survived by her husband, Rodney Kubik; daughters, Stephanie (Brandon) Decker and Ashley (Cord McMahon) Kubik; honorary son, Ryan Hodges; mother, Penelope Smith; brother, Vance Smith; in-laws, Kim Kubik, Douglas Kubik, Ellen Holcomb, Christopher (Janet) Kubik and Lisa (Jim) Weatherall; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Croatian Fraternal Slavic Center, 6575 Indianola Avenue in Des Moines.
