Cliff started teaching me how to fly when I was just seven years old, and I will forever cherish those memories. He was the best pilot I have ever known and such a bright light in my life. I’m grateful for everything I’ve been able to accomplish because of him. Cliff is the one who showed me the true love of flying, and now I will honor him in everything I do. I hope to always make him proud. My love and heartfelt condolences go out to his family. May he forever fly high.

We will miss our wonderful Uncle Cliff. We would have loved to have had more time to spend with mom's side of the family, but our few visits were very special to us. When I was about 5, Cliff became my hero when he visited us while we were stationed in Hawaii. There was a neighbor who was always angry at everyone and she kept harassing our mom. Cliff went over to her house and told her to leave his sister alone. She never bothered our mom again. He will always have a special place in our hearts, and we are so thankful for the time that we got to spend with him, Mary, Leroy, and Renee in the last few years.

We are so sad to hear of Cliff’s passing. He was a kind, funny, generous man. His laugh was contagious. He will always be remembered and will live on every time we think of Star Wars and our Key West adventures. Our condolences to his loved ones. Forever will he fly. ❤️

I new Cliff for at least 10-15 years plus. Being part of an aviation community you know of or by assocation. My most fond memory of Cliff was when we were T-hangar neighbors on F. row in Ankeny Airport. I enjoyed Cliff stories whether it was crop dusting or his Navy experience's. The one visual experience I had was a 985 radial engine crop dusting plane idling (tied down) on the ramp. I was not able to get a visual of the control stick actuator.

Cliff will be missed by many people in the Aviation community! I have known Cliff for several years! He helped the Iowa Aviation Heritage Museum get our 1942 Stinson L5 from California by helping take it a part and haul it back to Iowa! He was such a great guy to know and be around! Blue Skoes my friend.
