Deborah Lottie
July 30, 1972 — March 11, 2025
Deborah Maria Lottie, 52, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Debbie was born July 30, 1972, in Des Moines, Iowa to Samuel and Margaret (Galvin) Parker.
Debbie had a contagious laugh and had a way of making everyone feel welcomed in her home whether she knew you or just met you. Nothing made her happier than when she was spending time with family, her children, and grandchildren. When the holidays or big events came around you could always count on her to have lots of good food ready for anyone who walked through her door.
Debbie was a unicorn when it came to her personality. She was very strong, independent, and giving. She spent many years volunteering and giving back to the community, and especially loved volunteering for Urban Dreams. When things weren't looking so great, she always found strength in her faith.
Debbie had many talents and hobbies. She could sew anything. She really enjoyed cooking, shopping, get her nails done, and loved to talk on the phone. On beautiful summer evenings, her and her bestie would “parking lot pimp” as they called it, chilling in the parking of her complex chatting and enjoying the weather. When she would clean, she would always play Ghost Hunters or Dragon Ball Z in the background, which were tv shows she bonded over with her sons. Debbie loved vacationing in Florida with her brother and sister in law. She also enjoyed vacationing in Texas with her daughter who resides there. On beautiful days she enjoyed pulling her crossfire out and cruising around town with her brother side by side in his Porsche. Debbie was a free spirited, beautiful sassy soul. When she walked in the room you could feel her brightness shining through and she always knew how to make an entrance with her famous line, "Well hello, family!"
She is survived by her husband, Andre Lottie; children, Drewetta Parker, Kimberly Woods, Kurtis (Desiree) Woods, Kevin Jr. (Dali) Woods, and Kelvin Woods; grandchildren, Alivia, Ahmani, Andre, Allahna, Allayjia, Ka’auni, Kay’vion, Remii, Kacen, Kurtis Jr., Kaiya, Giovanni, Jayden, DJ, Amaria, and August; mother, Margaret (Galvin) Parker; siblings, Tito (Mary) Parker, Elix Parker, Preston (Deb) Parker, Curtis (Trish) Parker, Samuel Parker, and Victoria (Tawuan) Farley; nieces and nephews, Myerra, Myanna, Kierra, Pierson, Lola, Elias, Aliyana, Tresaun, T’Avian, Aaliyah, Cierra, Ellis, Elijah, D’Tario, Damarius, Rico Antonio, Lena, and Alicia; as well as many other extended family and friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by her brother, Ellis Parker; father, Samuel Parker; and granddaughter, Avi.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2025 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
