Delores Long, 92, passed away on April 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Pine Grove, West Virginia on July 16, 1933, daughter of Reatha and Ross Nolan.

Delores moved from West Virginia to Akron, Ohio where she met the love of her life, George. In 1954 they eloped to Angola, Ohio and spent 67 years together.

Delores began working at the age of eight and carried that strong work ethic throughout her life. She became a restaurant manager in Cuyahoga Falls and also worked in several other restaurants over the years. She later retired from Walmart at the age of 86. For a decade, she traveled with her husband, George, during his time with Universal Traveling. She attended Pine Grove High School, where she was proud to serve as a drum major.
She enjoyed visiting the casino and devoted much of her life to caring for her children.

Delores is survived by her son George D. (Meta) Long; and daughter, Rhonda (Curtis) Cass; 3 grandchildren, Leah (Evan) Goss, Brad Lee (Megan), and Charles A Long; 4 great grandchildren, Alexis Goss, Cohen Hawk, Henry Lee, and Charlie Lee. She is preceded in death by her husband George; siblings, Jerry Miller, Margaret Lantz, Mildred Brown, James Nolan; and her parents, Ross and Retha Nolan.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St S.W., Altoona, Iowa on TBD. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.
