Dorothy Parcel age, 68, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 at her home. She was born on September 28, 1956, in Knoxville, Iowa.

Dorothy cherished her role at the Wallace State Office Building and dedicated much of her life to serving as a nurse aide in various nursing homes. She found joy in playing BINGO, singing along to classic records, and listening to music—especially the timeless tunes of Glen Campbell, Tammy Wynette, and Reba McEntire.

Above all, Dorothy treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren, delighting in their shared activities and the joy of learning together. Their time spent exploring the computer was a favorite pastime, where they engaged in games and educational activities. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children John Parcel, Tina McLain, Coleen (Dale) Carper, Charlie Ann (Michael) Northway, and Kelly Parcel (Matt Soto), grandchildren Jordan, Erin, Ayden, Logan, Sabrina, Alcina, Rowan, Zoey, and Lily, her siblings Donna, Dianne, Jim, and Kim, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Arden and Betty Lloyd, beloved husband Chuck, and her four siblings.

Per her wishes, cremation has occurred and no formal services are held.
