Elaine Hill, 65, passed away on May 15, 2025, in Des Moines. She was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on February 10, 1960 to John and Ruby (Morlan) Hartke.

Elaine was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and more to many others. Her journey on earth was one marked by love, compassion, and dedication to her family. Elaine loved spending time with her mother, Ruby Hartke whether it was going to the store or just enjoying a cup of coffee together. The relationship she had with her mother was more than just a mother-daughter relationship, they were also best friends. Elaine found love in spending time with her dogs over the years and also spent her time enjoying crosswords, crafts, television, and time with family and friends. Those who knew Elaine understood she loved her family and would make a point to tell them that she loved and appreciated them as often as possible. Elaine was known for her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Whether it was through her thoughtful words, home-cooked meals, or the unwavering support she gave to those she loved, Elaine made a lasting impact on all who knew her. Memories of warm dinners cooked, sneaking too many sweet treats to her grandchildren, holidays and special occasions celebrated. Those memories will live on with each person who came in contact with her.

Elaine is survived by her son, Jeremy (Brandy) Bos; grandchildren, Jeremy Jr. Bos, Faith Bos, Hope Bos, Charity Bos; and sister, Diania Reeves; nieces and nephew, Billie, Jennifer, Brandy, Amanda, and Johnny.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Hill; parents; John and Ruby Hartke.

Graveside service will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., at Pine Hill Cemetery, 524 NW 54th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa.
