Errol Anne Feldman
Ankeny, Iowa

Anne was born Errol Annette Singleton on June 25, 1938, in Northwest Missouri by the town of Craig. She was the middle child of 9 children born to Irene and Orville Singleton. There were 6 girls and 3 boys born into the family. She passed away on Wednesday May 14, 2025, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny.

Anne attended a country school for grades kindergarten through 6th grade and then attended Craig Town School. Later the family moved to rural Tarkio, Missouri where she attended high school. She graduated in 1956.

After high school, Anne was a telephone operator in Tarkio, Missouri for 2 years. In 1959 she moved to Des Moines, Iowa to live with her sister and to further employment. She began her career at Utica Clothing in Des Moines.

Anne and Lonnie met in 1960, and they married in March of 1961. They had three daughters, Cheryl, Cindy and Patti. Anne was a homemaker until all of her children were in school. They made their home in Ankeny, Iowa.

After she successfully got all her children off to school, she became employed as a Teachers Associate for Ankeny Community Schools. She worked at this job for 17 years. She loved her job and made lifelong friends during this time.

Anne retired from her job in 1997 to take care of her 3 granddaughters, Madison, Reid and Cassie. She has 6 grandchildren in all: Michael, Madison, Reid, Cassie, Samantha and Jack. She enjoyed a wonderful and loving relationship with them. Anne also has 6 great-grandchildren: MiKayla, Joey, Zeno, Venni, Swayde and Boz.
Anne loved anything to do with dogs. One of her loves was her miniature wiener dog Molly. They were best friends, and she remembered her with such love. She also enjoyed visits from her grand dogs.

Anne has a green thumb, and she could always be found in the spring, summer and fall in her yard with her flowers. Her gardens were always very beautiful. She loved sitting out in her flower beds digging in the dirt. She also enjoyed having many house plants. Everything thrived so her plants must have loved her as much as she loved them.

Anne loved to put puzzles together, read to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was fantastic at drawing/painting. She has always impressed us by picking up a pencil and doodling something that turns out great!

Anne and Lonnie have been married for 64 years. Their life has been full with family, friends and adventures.

Anne is survived by her husband, Lonnie; 3 daughters, Cheryl (Kevin) Brindley, Cindy (John) Mertens and Patti (Kevin) Lawnsdail; siblings Richard (Odrie) Singleton, Jesse Singleton, Henry (Elaine) Singleton and Jackie Anderson; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and sisters, Arlene, Deloris, Marian and Rose.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Animal Rescue League of Iowa or Heritage Assembly of God Church.
