Frances Wilda Overholser

Frances Wilda Overholser, age 86, passed away on July 7, 2026, at Valley View Village. She was born the daughter of Frank and Margaret Jordan on February 19, 1940, in Alice, Texas.

Frankie was a devoted member of Westover Baptist Church and was also a member and past president of Does #25. She was a talented and creative woman who found great joy in reading, sewing, needlepoint, and quilting. Her exceptional needlepoint work earned her first place at the Iowa State Fair for one of her beautiful creations.

Frankie enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, as well as going to garage sales and spending time with others. She and Dick looked forward to their winters in Donna, Texas, where they spent six months of each year. Above all, Frankie treasured the time she spent with her family, which brought her the greatest happiness. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She is lovingly survived by her husband Dick Overholser, children William Richards, Jamie Richards, and Korrie Richards, step-children Michael Overholser and Laura Childs, daughter-in-law Susan Richards, 14 grandchildren Cathi Dudley, Craig McWilliams, Heather Richards, Amanda Gilbertson, Wayne Rolland, Marcus Rolland, Austin Overholser, Kyle Overholser, Kae Overholser, Rachael Kent, Chad Overholser, Missy Sexton, Nathan Overholser, and Niki Overholser, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, first husband William “Bill” Richards, daughter Debby Heller, step-daughter Rhonda Overholser, and her step-son Jeffrey Overholser.

Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., day, July 17, 2026, at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
