John "Jack" Steingrabe

John “Jack” Steingrabe, 69, passed away on July 10, 2026, at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Jack was born April 4, 1957, Las Cruces, New Mexico to John and Carmelita (Vigil) Steingrabe. He retired from Farm Bureau. Jack enjoyed fishing and canoeing. He especially enjoyed canoe trips to Quetico Park in Canada when he was young. Jack was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan. He watched every Royals game and always had a countdown starting at Spring training until the season started. Jack had strong political views and valued his beliefs. He was a proud gardener.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Chris; daughter, Katie (Paul) Hansen; son, John; brothers, Charles and Stephen; sister, Johanna (Brian) Tollas and Elizabeth (Alex) Morales; six nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Thirsty Sportsman, 4808 SW 9th Street.
