Judith Eva Lawrence
of Bondurant, Iowa
Judith Eva Lawrence, 84, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born the daughter of Dale and Roxie (Lincoln) Guyer on January 29, 1941 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Judy found her greatest joy in her family. A devoted Christian, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized as an adult.
She and her husband, George Lawrence, shared nearly 70 years of marriage, raising their family in Pleasant Hill before later moving to Altoona.
Judy was a proud mother of four children and a beloved grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook and was known for being a “wonderful” cook – a title she embraced with her sense of humor. She was also a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed spending time mushroom hunting and canning anything she should get her hands on. Coming from a large family, Judy loved spending time with her brothers and sisters and remained close to them throughout her life. While living at Prairie Vista, she made many friends, and the staff loved her sense of humor and wit. She owned and operated Living Interior, a plant business she successfully ran before retiring.
Those left to cherish Judy’s memory include her loving spouse, George; children, Ronda (Craig) Rehor, Russell (Kim) Lawrence and Stephanie (Duane) Tobey; grandchildren, Nichole (Jason) Lozano, Cody Rehor, Justin (Stefaney) Lawrence, Taraney (Rob) Shontz, Cassidy (William) Sayers, Rachel Lawrence and Jacob Tobey; sixteen great grandchildren; siblings, John Guyer, Mardell Ellis and William Guyer.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Roxie Guyer; daughter, Kathy Lawrence; brothers, Paul, Dwayne, David, Calvin and Jim and sisters, Janice, Joyce, Norma and Mary.
A Celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home., 105 4th Street SW, Altoona, Iowa. A funeral service will take place following visitation at 11:00 a.m., at funeral home.
Judy’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now in her eternal home. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Judy and my mom (Nadine) were cousins. She and George loved traveling around to various bluegrass festivals where my Dad, Jerry Allen was pickin’ and grinnin’, and from time to time I would meet up with them all one place or another.
I especially enjoyed Judy’s quick smile and joyful heart! She was always delighted to see me, and we just had the best time hanging out with as many family as could gather in one spot. She had a delightful sense of humor and an infectious laugh!!
Sending our deepest sympathies to George and the kids at this difficult time. We are never prepared to let our loved ones go, but it is comforting to know we shall be together again in due time. What a welcoming committee that will be!
With heartfelt condolences from our family to yours…
