Judith Ann Patton, 82, passed away on July 30, 2025 at the Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, Iowa. She was born in Knoxville, Iowa on August 4, 1942 to William and Alice (Morgan) Frakes.

Judy was a sassy, ornery, and stubborn lady—qualities her family cherished and loved her for. She worked as a dedicated bank teller for over 30 years, and she even used her vacation time to work at the Iowa State Fair in the same role, simply because she enjoyed it so much.

A true lover of the outdoors, Judy found joy in camping, boating, and riding motorcycles with her family. She also coached her daughters' softball teams, showing her commitment to being involved in their lives.

Judy was an avid NASCAR fan. She and Jack, her beloved husband of nearly 64 years, were proud season ticket holders at Kansas Speedway, Talladega Speedway, and more. Their shared passion was one of many things that kept them close over the years.

She was known for her generous spirit—always a thoughtful gift giver and a gracious hostess. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys, whether it was cheering them on at drag races or taking them out shopping.

Judy lived her life with passion, humor, and heart, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, John “Jack”; daughter, Shelly (Bob) Massey; grandchildren, Cassie (Steve) Serrata, Olivia Bishop, Samantha Massey and Robbie Massey; great grandchildren, Dottie Rose, Clara Serrata, Violet Serrata and one on the way; son-in-law, Dan Bishop along with a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Allison Bishop; parents, William and Alice Frakes; brothers, John Frakes, David Frakes and William Frakes Jr.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at Bondurant Cemetery, Bondurant, Iowa.

Memorial contributions make be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Judy.
