October 04, 1943 — April 04, 2026
Karen Kay McMurray passed away on April 4, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1943, to her parents, Albert Boyd and Vivian (Trupp) Boyd in Washington, Iowa. Karen graduated from Washington High School and worked in the hospitality industry.
She was the mother of two sons, Bradley and Robert Anderson, and one daughter, Michelle Anderson and later was married to Terry McMurray.
Karen was a strong woman who had many trials in her life and came through them with humor and a smile. She was always quick to offer her opinion if you were willing to listen, whether it was about politics, sports, or the world. She was a BIG fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
She absolutely loved her family and always put them first. Nothing was more important to her than her faith in God, her family and her little dog, Ruby. She became a grandmother to so many young people in her church and those that she would come across. She gave her time, support, and advice to those who needed her. She was loving, kind and a great listener, and she will be truly missed by all those who she has touched in this world.
Karen is survived by her son Bradly (Linda) Anderson; daughter Michelle Anderson; her grandsons, Tim Anderson, Tom Anderson Trey Anderson and Michael (Lily) Anderson; granddaughters Brooke (Steve) Greathouse, Lindsay (Robert) Wismeski and Leslie (Daniel) Castillo; great-grandchildren, Piper, Elliott, Maverick, Tate, Aizlyn, Lydia, Mason, and Leo.
