Kathy Toney, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. She was the daughter of John and Evelyn Fish, born on February 9, 1943, in Rolette, ND.

Kathy enjoyed her family most of all at holiday get togethers, especially grandkids and
great-grandkids. Kathy and Keith lived in Humboldt, TN., for 25 years before moving back to Iowa 2 years ago. Kathy and Keith loved to travel, with many tips to Vegas and 10 cruises. Their cruise to the Mediterranean was the trip of a life time. Kathy loved playing golf in many husband and wife tournaments and made many friends. She loved her Wednesday afternoons playing dominos with the girls and having a Bud Light or two. Kathy worked at several jobs but the one she liked the best was as a cashier at Prairie Meadows Casino. The best job she ever did was being the best wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.

Those left to cherish Kathy’s memory include her loving husband, Keith Toney; daughters, Sherrie King, Shelly (Bob) Steingrabe, Wendy (Mark) Ferris, Tracy McChesney and Tricia (Willie) Eli; a very special sister-in-law, Sheila Toney; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Fish; brother, Lyle Fish; sisters, Lydia Davis and Leslie Halverson and her beloved Golden Retriever, Maggie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Main Street Moments, 85 Paine St., SE, Suite D, Bondurant, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, in memory of Kathy.
