Linda Lee Murphy

Linda Lee Murphy, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Kavanagh House on 56th.
Linda was born July 20, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa to Glenn Signs, Sr. and Katherine (Stapleton) Signs. She was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. She graduated from East High School in 1964 and was a proud East High Scarlet. She went on to work for Meredith Corporation retiring in 2009. She married Lonnie Murphy and raised her family with love and fierce dedication on the northeast side of Des Moines.
Linda was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren. Linda loved her friends, coworkers, and classmates and looked forward to regular lunches with them. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and working in her yard. She had a green thumb when it came to growing plants and flowers. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved to read.
She is survived by her children, Todd Murphy (Satiel), Lori Brown (Darwin), and Scott Murphy; grandchildren, Nick Murphy, Jordan, Suzie Brown, Dustin Axland (Sedina), Caleb Murphy (Sara), and Cole Murphy; great-grandchildren, Xander, Dominic, and Parker; brother, Greg Signs; as well as other extended family and many friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Murphy; parents, Glenn Sr. and Katherine Signs; brother, Glenn Signs, Jr.; and Bud the Dog.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Polk County Northside Community Center, 3010 6th Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50313.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.

So sorry to hear this. My condolences to Linda's family. Linda and I were classmates. We saw and talked to each other at our class get togethers. She was the sweetest person ever. Thinking of your family at this time.
