Lorraine Clara Conner, 92 years old, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at St. Anthony's Nursing Home in Minnesota.

Lorraine was born on September 8, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa too her Father, Orville Edwards, Sr. and Mother, Margaret Estelle Edwards.

Lorraine enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, painting ceramics, restoring old homes, doing word search puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching tennis, golf, and other sporting events.

She also loved cooking for her family and friends, hosting holidays and family events, and spending time with her Church Family at Tree of Life Family Church, as the Mother of the Church under the Leadership of Pastor Warren and Nadine Carey of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Lorraine attended Des Moines Public School District, and was also the first woman of color Janitor in all 50 states. She received ribbons as well as plaques due to her hard work and dedication. She was a very hard-working woman.

Lorraine was a dedicated Mother who raised eight children to the best of her ability. Lorraine loved her children and family dearly.

Lorraine's biggest desire and prayer to God was to see all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family as a whole become saved and serve the Lord. Mother Lorraine will truly be missed.

She leaves behind her remaining Children: Michael Eugene Edwards, Brenda Mae Hutchinson, Meko (Orville) Edwards, Karlinda Kay Brown, Durwand James Conner, and Sonadenise Bethea.

Also she leaves behind over a hundred plus Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Great-Great-Grandchildren, and possibly Great-Great-Great-Grandchildren, along with a Host of Nieces, Nephews, Younger Cousins, and Close Friends.

Preceding her in death were her Mother, Margaret Estelle Edwards; her Father, Orville Edwards, Sr.; her Older Brother, Orville Edwards, Jr.; her Sister, Norma Fountain; her Younger Brother, Robert Edwards; her Son, Gregory Lamont Edwards; her Daughter, Laurie Lynn Robinson; and all Her Aunts, Uncles, as well as a few Cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with Funeral immediately after at Corinthians Baptist Church, 814 School Street, Des Moines, Iowa with Pastor Warren S. Carey Officiating.

Special thanks and appreciation also given by the Family to Corinthians Baptist Church for the use of Church and Staff, and Hamilton's Funeral Home for the care and preparation of our Mother.
