Marilyn Kaye Hanna, 80, passed away on January 17, 2026, at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born on August 4, 1945, in Denver CO, to James and Caryl (Van Atten) Hanna.
Marilyn had a deep love for crafting—especially sewing, needlepoint, and cross-stitching. She enjoyed baking and faithfully led her weekly Bible study group. Marilyn was known for her coffee mornings with friends at her apartment complex, where laughter and conversation were always shared. Above all else, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Stefanie (Shon) Clausen; son, Gerald Woolman; grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica) Moehle, Spencer Ames, Sammantha (Christopher) Clausen, Chase (Kayla) Clausen and Brady Clausen; great grandchildren, Payton, McKenna, Rhylee, Liam and Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., at Crestwood Baptist Church, 3717 Forrest Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Colfax Cemetery, Colfax, Iowa.
