Marvin James Pearson was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 25, 1947. Marvin ascended into eternity in the peaceful morning hours of April 22, 2026. He was 79 years old.

Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved spending time with family, friends, and his beloved pets. Marvin was retired from Des Moines Public Schools.

He was blessed with 57 years of marriage to his wife, Beverly June DeJoode. Together they had two sons; William (Debbie) and Frank (Kayla) Pearson. He had 4 beautiful granddaughters; Lexie (Chris) White; Allyson (Noah) Sells; Addyson and Lillyah Pearson. He also had one great grandson (MJMS).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship until 4:00 p.m., at United Congregational Christian Church, 211 Park Ave NE, Mitchellville, Iowa 50169
