Matthew Rex Ringgenberg
March 08, 1985 — June 04, 2025
Matthew Rex Ringgenberg passed away far too soon, on June 4, 2025, forever leaving his mark in this world. He was born the son of Rex and JoEllen Ringgenberg on March 8, 1985, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was raised in Oskaloosa, IA, where he graduated from Oskaloosa Senior High School in 2003.
Matt enjoyed the finer things in life and always ordered top shelf. He loved his family, and he loved his friends. Matt was always optimistic and spread his light wherever he went. He will be remembered for bringing laughter and his own brand of humor (IYKYK) to every situation. Whether you had known Matt for years or had just met, he had the easy ability to put a smile on anyone’s face. He befriended all, from all walks of life. You could say Matt was top shelf himself.
Matt was a proud graduate of Simpson College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management. He was employed as an IT and Cybersecurity Senior Account Executive at Access Systems, Inc. in Waukee, IA, where he worked for 15 years. Colleagues considered him a friend, known for bringing dedication, kindness, and genuine connection to everything he did, as well as his trademark humor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother JoEllen Ringgenberg, sisters Sara (James) Rolley and Megan (Charles) Reynolds, nephews Fletcher Reynolds, Jaharii Rolley, and Javian Rolley, and cousins Michelle (Joe) Critchlow, Michael Swinehart (II), Cass (Brad) Edwards. Matt deeply loved his friends and family and was considered an uncle to many of his friends’ children, even having been a namesake for one.
Matt was preceded in death by his father, Rex Ringgenberg, and Steve Lunkley, Marilyn Ringgenberg, Michael Swinehart, Cathy Swinehart, Larry Long, Sheila Lincoln, and his grandparents.
Matt’s light will continue to shine brightly through all who knew and loved him.
Family will greet guests on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. My deepest condolences to your family Jodie. Matt was such an easy person to love. He always had a big smile and a hug and it was a proper hug. I will always remember his shy smile as a boy who grew into a loving young man. The Fisher family considered him one of our own. He will be deeply missed but we care the love with us.
